‘Information Orders’ to Improve Protection of IP Rights Holders
Sweden | 10 November 2008

A new directive is scheduled for early 2009 which will allow the courts to hand down 'information orders' to IP rights infringers, compelling them to inform on the origin of the offending goods or services and on the network used to distribute the infringing material. The Ministry of Justice expects to process between 400 and 800 such orders a year.
