San Francisco approves time off with full pay for new parents
USA | 04 May 2016

San Francisco has become the first city in the United States to approve time off from work with full pay for new parents. The California Paid Family Leave programme already allows employees to receive up to 55% of their wages for up to six weeks to care for newborns or newly adopted children. The new San Francisco law will require employers with at least 20 employees to cover the 45% of employees' wages not already covered by the programme.
